Joanne Norris Scholarship

The deadline has passed for this scholarship opportunity.

Joanne Norris, a renowned journalist, received accolades for her work with publications such as the Redding Record-Searchlight and the Long Beach Press-Telegram, among others. Commencing her career in the 1950s, an era with limited female representation in journalism, she committed herself to ventures beyond superficial assignments. Joanne delved into pressing societal issues, including racism, sexism and bias. She recognized that trustworthy journalism entails a comprehensive exploration of stories, unhesitatingly following the facts wherever they may lead and presenting them with unwavering reverence for the indisputable importance of truth.
