Elverta Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyer
Elverta is a town in Sacramento County that blends country and city in an atmosphere from days gone by but with the conveniences of modern times. The population is 5,791 as of 2019, which gives locals a chance to know their neighbors, unlike metropolitan areas. However, it isn’t far to travel to Sacramento, Roseville or Arden-Arcade. Conveniently located between California State Route 99 and Interstate 80, local residents can enjoy the offerings of the cities surrounding it as well as Yosemite National Park and two of California’s best national forests. Since nearby urban areas are becoming more congested, accidents are more common.
As an injury lawyer who represents clients in Elverta and surrounding Northern California, I believe the financial cost of an accident should be paid by the negligent party. It is my honor to protect my clients’ legal rights to compensation for their injuries.History of Elverta
Elverta was named after Elverta Dike. Her husband generously donated the land to build a local church in the unincorporated community, which was part of an 1844 land grant. The Fruit Land Company, out of Minneapolis, purchased 12,000 acres of this grant. The area was divided into smaller pieces in 1912.Sacramento County Accidents
Sacramento County recorded 12,851 traffic collisions in 2016 that resulted in both deaths and injuries. Excess speed was deemed a contributing factor in 3,309 of those accidents, which placed the county third out of all the others in California that year. Alcohol consumption contributed to 1,311 accidents with 51 of those drivers under the age of 21. There were 556 accidents that involved motorcycles and 584 involving bicycle riders. Eighty-one of the bicycle riders were under age 15.
In 2016, there were 644 pedestrians involved in traffic collisions. In 2016, Sacramento County ranked number one in the number of injuries and fatalities to bicycle riders who were children compared to the rest of the state.Information About Personal Injury Lawyer Ed Smith
I was born in New York City in Brooklyn. People from this area are straightforward about both their thinking and their manner of speech. This is something I am proud of as an injury lawyer because I believe my clients want to know what’s what. When you’ve been involved in an accident, you want someone who will be forthcoming and fight for your rights. That’s exactly what I do. As an attorney for those who’ve suffered a personal injury, it isn’t just the case. It’s the people, and my clients often end up as my friends because of my holistic approach.
I am honored to be a Vietnam War vet who served in the military in a flight unit with the Air Force. Afterward, I headed to California to attend the University of California at Davis. Working hard, I graduated with honors and followed up by attending McGeorge Law School. I decided to enter into personal injury law because it was important to me to see that people would be compensated for another’s negligence. My Memberships
I am honored to belong to a number of organizations such as the Sacramento County Bar Association and State Bar of California. In addition, I belong to the Capital City Trial Lawyers Association. The organization, Consumer Attorneys of California, works to provide accountability for negligence caused by defective products and insurance companies that go back on their promises. In addition, I joined the National Association of Distinguished Counsel by their invitation.
Only attorneys dedicated to legal excellence are invited and represent less than 1 percent of the attorneys in the country. Avvo, the peer-reviewed site, has awarded me a rating of 10.0, which is only given to lawyers who display to their clients an exceptional commitment.Books to Help the Average Citizen
The law can be complex, so I have written two books to help people understand what their rights are and how accidents are handled. One is about motor vehicle collisions and is called The Ultimate California Auto Accident Handbook. The other is geared to motorcyclists and is called the California Motorcycle Accident Handbook. You can download either of these books onto your Kindle for free on Amazon. Both books tell you what happens following an accident.
I also had a cable television show called “Ask the Lawyer” which ran for around 10 years. In addition, my website has comprehensive information on many different types of personal injuries and the laws that govern them, so readers can look up the topics that interest them.
