Ed Smith was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After four years in the U.S. Air Force, he settled in Sacramento, California.

Ed's practice is devoted solely to Personal Injury and Wrongful Death cases on behalf of injured persons. He maintains one of the highest Paralegal to Attorney ratios in the United States, so he can maintain the very highest quality service to his clients. An article about the unique nature of our firm can be found in "Paralegals Nine, Attorneys One," (Mar/Apr 1996, Legal Assistant Today). Ed believes an injury or an illness can enable us to focus on the deeper meaning in our lives, and he works with his clients to help explore the physical, psychological, relational and spiritual ramifications of their injuries.

Ed is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is the author of several legal articles, including "Top 20 Internet Sites for Attorneys," (Feb/Mar 1996, Law Office Computing). He is also a frequent lecturer at legal seminars on the impact of the Internet and On-Line Services on the practice of Personal Injury Law. Ed is also an expert on the utilization of Paralegals in the law and has lectured and written on that topic. When he is not in court, Ed enjoys reading, traveling, scuba diving, weight lifting and gardening. He is active in the Aspire Foundation in Sacramento, an organization devoted to helping people live their lives with passion and to help them remove self-imposed barriers to the presence of love in their lives.

If you live in the Sacramento area, you can see Ed every Thursday evening from 6 to 7 pm on the television show "Ask a Lawyer" on Comcast channel 73 or 74. You can also call in to the show to talk with him directly.
